VDS Pro driving practice

Frequently Asked Questions

What buyers usually ask before choosing Pro.

Clear answers about hardware, Steam, reports, subscriptions, organisations, and what VDS Pro is designed to replace.

How is VDS Pro different from the Steam edition? v
The current simulator includes structured driving lessons, theory-test practice, hazard perception, and mock practical tests. Steam is best for solo practice. Pro adds learner coaching, progress reports, direct VDS Hub installs, organisation management, course assignments, assessments, and exports.
Can VDS Pro replace real driving lessons? v
No. It is a safer practice and evidence layer that supports professional instruction. Learners still need real road time and local instructor guidance.
What equipment do I need? v
You can start with a compatible computer and basic controls. For training rooms, our installed stations include a gaming PC, large curved display with mounting, driving sim rig, Moza wheel and pedals, indicator stalk, VDS Hub setup, and calibration.
What do organisations get? v
Organisation plans get station-based simulator access, invites, roles, course assignment workflows, assessment review, progress exports, certificates, and audit trails. Education & Small Organisations includes up to 100 named users; Corporate allowances are agreed for the rollout.
How does organisation pricing work? v
Software is priced by active simulator station, not by learner. Schools, driving schools, non-commercial programmes, and organisations under £500,000 turnover start from £100/month + VAT per station. The £200 Corporate tier is for larger commercial and fleet organisations.
Does a simulator purchase include the software? v
Yes. Each purchased simulator station includes 12 months of VDS Pro for that station. The licence starts when we grant access after the purchase. Continued access after the included period requires the applicable monthly station plan; it does not begin automatically unless you separately agree to it. Software terms for leased stations are confirmed in the lease quote.
Can I show progress to a parent, instructor, or employer? v
Yes. Pro includes learner reports, module evidence, coaching signals, and CSV exports so progress can be reviewed outside the simulator.
Can you support the simulator after installation? v
Yes. Remote support is included by plan, and post-install on-site support is available at £650/day + VAT and travel for refresher staff training, station recalibration, room moves, or additional instructor handover.
Can EU customers use their own simulator hardware? v
Yes. Installed hardware is currently UK-only, but EU customers can subscribe in euros and use a compatible simulator station. Contact us before buying hardware and we can share recommended PC, display, cockpit, and Moza control specifications.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime? v
Yes. Subscription controls are available from your account area. Organisation and enterprise plans can also contact support for billing changes.
